The Gendarmenmarkt in Mitte is often described as the most beautiful square in Berlin. The central building is the Concert Hall, flanked on the north side by the French Cathedral and to the other by the German Cathedral (left in the picture). A significant business and shopping district has evolved around the Gendarmenmarkt.
